Nice post. I've never heard of this, but makes perfect sense. This seems like a must have for sububanites or city dwellers. Im definitely going to do some homework on this one.

Best,
J

I have a big trellis that I will add to the side with the cucumber and tomato plant to assist the vertical growing.

I love square foot gardening. It is a great way to keep the weeds down and the raised beds allow the plants to live longer into the winter.

Leave 4 one foot squares for each cabbage planted! Watch out for turnips too, they take more space, but for carrots, radishes, onions, beets and the like the square foot method works great! Try growing 'Up' a trellis, this is good for 'cumbers, some small tomatoes and vining beans. Cauliflowers take about the same space as cabbages but lettuce is good planted sucessively, over the summer, in square foot spaces.
