Our current lifestyles are, but there are always alternatives. It all depends on which level of self-sufficiency you are aiming for. Like I said in a previous post, we are not ready to give up most of our modern-life-comforts, but I’m sure that if you are willing to, you can be totally self-sufficient and independent of oil.
